Schedule of Required Documents for New School Facilities Project Review
The SFB requires review of SFB-funded New School Facilities at the Schematic Design, Design Development and Construction Documents phases of design. Please provide the required documents according to the schedule.
To assist districts and design teams with meeting the Minimum Adequacy Guidelines for new construction and renovations, a checklist has been developed. This checklist may be used on any school and provides a quick reference to verify that the Minimum Adequacy Guidelines are being met. The checklist also has reference citations for the basis of the requirement.
These guidelines are to be used to determine the Lump Sum Architectural & Engineering (A&E) fees for "Basic Services" for all SFB projects, including both New Construction and Deficiency Correction projects. ** These are guidelines, not a schedule **
All new school construction projects must include in the design process a Kick-Off Meeting and design and budget review meetings at each of the following stages: Schematic Design, Design Development and Construction Documents and final budge review. Below are the agendas for each of these meetings.
The SFB Construction Cost Index includes separate funding levels for rural and urban school districts as required by A.R.S. 15-2041.D.3 (c), which defines "rural area" as an area outside a thrity-five mile radius of a boundary of a municipality with a population of more than fifty thousand persons. This list was updated to reflect data received through the 2010 Census.
On November 2, 2006, the School Facilities Board approved the policy regarding campus layouts and allowable exterior lineal feet. This summary shows the number of buildings and amount of exterior lineal feet the SFB will fund. Sample shapes are also included.
