On October 6, 2010, the Board approved the award of 11 Energy Efficiency Grant projects to 10 districts.  In total, these projects, with an estimated cost of $11,758,463, will save $1,301,704 per year in utility costs.  The average payback is approximately nine years.

On February 11, 2010, the U.S. Department of Energy issued a Memorandum of Decision granting nationwide categorical waivers under section 1605 of the Recovery Act (the Buy American Provisions) for fluorescent electronic lighting ballasts, LED traffic lights and signals, and CFL's (with a few exceptions described in the waiver).
