Arizona School Design Primer
The "Arizona School Design Primer" was developed by Marlene S. Imirzian, AIA, as a first step to provide basic school design considerations. These basics can be applied to every new or renovated school construction project and budget. The purpose and focus of the Primer is to:
- Raise the level of communication and expectations of school design
- Empower the key decision makers for school design and construction in the State of Arizona with fundamental information
- Inspire Arizona’s decision makers
The Primer highlights basic design considerations and shows how informed and imaginative responses to each of them during the design stage of new construction and renovation projects will result in schools: that will improve student performance, that are easier to maintain, that will retain better teachers, and that cost less in the long run.
