The Students FIRST law established a new school facilities fund for the purpose of constructing new schools to meet the minimum adequacy guidelines. On October 6, 2010, the Board approved the award of 11 Energy Efficiency Grant projects to 10 districts.  In total, these projects, with an estimated cost of $11,758,463, will save $1,301,704 per year in utility costs.  The average payback is approximately nine years.
