SRP is offering rebates for installing high-efficiency lighting, heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) equipment, motors, and/or variable frequency drives (VFDs). (Please Note: These programs are only available to SRP customers.)

Students FIRST (Fair and Immediate Resources for Students Today) is a capital finance program funded by appropriations from the State General Fund. The program is administered by the School Facilities Board, which consists of nine voting members appointed by the Governor; in addition, the Superintendent of Public Instruction serves as a non-voting member. The Board is charged with administration of three capital funds: a) Building Renewal, b) Deficiencies Corrections, and c) New School Facilities.

1994 ruling that because the then-present scheme was the source of disparities, it was not in compliance with Arizona Constitution Article XI §1. This Article requires the legislature to enact appropriate laws to finance education in the public schools in a way that does not create substantial disparities among schools, communities or districts.

1997 ruling that the proposed legislation did not meet the requirements of Article XI because: it is itself the cause of continued substantial disparities among districts; the legislature may not delegate to the districts the responsibility to provide adequate capital facilities; and Article XI mandates adequate capital facilities statewide.

1998 ruling that the proposed Students FIRST Act of 1998 violates the requirements of the Arizona Constitution to provide a general and uniform public school system due to the provisions establishing the bonding prohibition, compressed assessment ratios and the opt-out option.

Tucson Electric Power (TEP) has recently announced a rebate program for energy efficient projects for their commercial customers. The Commercial Energy Solutions Program is for energy improvements in existing commercial (school) buildings. (Please Note: These programs are only available to TEP customers.)
